Don Owens established Owens Insurance Agency within Greer SC, on April 1, 1952. Because there were already two recognized insurance companies within Greer providing residential & auto insurance to the Upstate of South Carolina, a lot of individuals believed he was crazy. In January, 2009, Shane Lynn & Chris Crist obtained Owens Insurance Agency away from Riley Owens who'd purchased the company out of his dad in 1993.
