Shane graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1985 and signed to play football at Mars Hill College (University). Upon graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, Shane started what would lead to a 30-year (and continuing) career in the personal and commercial property and casualty insurance industry. Throughout Shane's career with Penn National Insurance Company and Selective Insurance Company, he served in many different roles ranging from desk claims adjuster to Officer of a multi-billion-dollar insurance company. During his stint in Indianapolis, IN, Shane earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. In addition to his MBA, Shane holds a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation and an AIC (Associates in Claims) designation. After a six year stay in Columbus, OH, Shane and his business partner, Chris Crist, were presented with the opportunity to buy Stokes-Farnham Insurance Agency Agency Inc. In December of 2008, Shane and his family moved back to his hometown of Greer, SC to become a local small business owner.
Shane is married to Amy Batchelor Lynn, also a Mars Hill Alumni, and they have two wonderful children, Alleson Jean (AJ) and Zachary (Zack). AJ is a Clemson University alumni and Zack is a student at Tri County Technical College. Shane's family attends Freedom Fellowship Church in Taylors SC. Shane is a member of the Greer Centennial Lions Club and a past board member & Chairman of the Board at Greer Community Ministries. Shane is a member of the Greer SC Chamber of Commerce and on their Board of Advisors. When he is not working, Shane enjoys hanging out with friends, camping with the family, hunting, fishing and all things Clemson Football.
